Last week, the Ground Up team was delighted to take part in an exciting Charity Padel Tournament organised by the City of Birmingham Rockets — an event that brought together teams from across different industries for a fantastic cause.
The day was a perfect blend of friendly competition, great networking, and community spirit. Several companies joined in, each bringing their A-game on the court and plenty of enthusiasm off it. The day was full of laughter, teamwork, and the satisfying sound of padel rallies echoing across the courts.
For us at Ground Up Property Group, it was more than just a chance to pick up the racket — it was an opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals from all different sectors. From property and finance to tech and local businesses, it was inspiring to meet so many people united by a shared goal: to support a meaningful cause while having some fun along the way.
The tournament also highlighted how sport can be a powerful way to build relationships and strengthen community ties. Whether it was cheering on colleagues, swapping business cards between matches, or simply sharing a post-game laugh, the event reminded us that giving back doesn’t have to be serious — it can be energetic, inclusive, and full of joy.
A big thank you to the City of Birmingham Rockets for organising such a brilliant event and to all the teams that took part. We’re proud to have played a small part in helping raise funds for a worthy cause, and we left feeling energised, inspired, and more connected to the incredible business community here in Birmingham.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s tournament — and maybe even working on our padel skills in the meantime!
