At Ground Up, we’re passionate about backing organisations that make a real difference within our community — which is why we are thrilled to be taking part in the City of Birmingham Rockets’ upcoming Padel Tournament, hosted in partnership with David Lloyd Health Club in Great Barr.
Following the success of the Rockets’ Presentation Evening on Wednesday 17th September at MacArthur Glen, where partners, supporters, and community members came together to celebrate the club’s continued growth, excitement is now building for the next big event.
On Thursday 6th November, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, the Birmingham Rockets will host an action-packed afternoon of padel — filled with friendly competition, networking, great food, and fundraising to further expand the club’s incredible community impact.
Why We're Getting Involved
The City of Birmingham Rockets are far more than a basketball club. Their mission reaches deep into the heart of local neighbourhoods — providing young people with access to sport, mentorship, and positive pathways. Through their community and performance programmes, children develop:

By raising funds through events like this one, the Rockets can continue offering opportunities that help local kids thrive — in sport and in life. And for us at Ground Up, supporting that purpose is hugely important.
Join Us in Backing Birmingham’s Future Talent
Teams of four can enter the tournament for £250 per team, with all proceeds going directly toward the Rockets’ youth development initiatives. It’s a brilliant chance for businesses to enjoy team building while contributing to something truly meaningful.
Don’t have a full team? No problem — the Rockets can group individual participants together, so everyone gets the chance to take part! They’re looking to recruit 12 teams, so now is the perfect time to get involved or spread the word through your networks.
